I joined ByteDance in 2019 as a UX designer. The project I focus on named Lark, chinese name Feishu. The team I am working for named ESUX, ES(Enterprise and Service) is committed to promoting business development in terms of tools and services. ESUX is the design team subordinate to ES(Enterprise and Service).

What's Lark?

Working at Bytedance

I am taking the roles as an interviewer, a mentor, and an connector person (connector person means vertical cooperation on the business side) in bytedance.

Currently, I am in charge of the AC business line of Lark, the full name is "Admin and Control", which includes 2 parts:

1. Admin
2. Passport

Another business line i am focusing on is User Growth. In the UG business line, I cooperate with the business product manager and use different kinds of testing methods, such as ABtest, looking for the best design strategy to help the business get good data results.

I cannot show too many design strategy of my work because of the confidentiality agreement. But, welcome to experience LARK 😘

Viewpoints and experiences I have summed up during the time working in bytedance:

  • It's necessary to try to prove the value of design, but it's more important to help the business succeed
  • The design strategy should be derived from business background rationality and logical, just like the deduction of a mathematical conclusion
  • Communication focuses on presenting objective facts, not your point of view
